The Road to Resurrection

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5th. Lent is a time to prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday. We enter this season deeply aware that we need a savior. This is a time to grow in humility, to confess our sins and to cultivate space in our weekly rhythm to be with Jesus.

As a church community, our aim for Lent is to practice a weekly rhythm of individual spiritual exercises and community learning about the way of Jesus. We will be practicing gratitude, meditation, prayer, fasting, confession and sabbath. Growth takes active effort—each week, you will receive guidance on these spiritual disciplines along with a recommended Psalm to meditate on. If you are not already part of a small group or community at CPC, please consider joining a new group (more info below) that will gather during Lent to encourage one another to go deeper with Jesus.

Each Sunday as we gather, the Gospel of Mark will guide us as we walk with Jesus along the Road to Resurrection—join us!

Join a Lent Small Group

One hour per week for the 5 weeks of Lent we invite you to practice a weekly rhythm of both individual spiritual exercises and community learning about the way of Jesus. An easy way to engage in this practice would be to join one of these small groups listed below (if you aren't in one already). Over the five weeks of Lent, these groups will gather for one hour each week to reflect on a Psalm and a specific spiritual practice as we make space for deeper relationship with Jesus.

If you are already in a small group, that’s great! We encourage you (and your current group) to join this rhythm and content for the five weeks of Lent, please email Pastor Jennifer for more information.
